I was learning to solve multiplication problems with arrays. I can now identify how many is in a column and a row. A buddy helped me with some of it. I learnt that five plus five plus five plus five=twenty and four gropes of five=twenty

In this activity I was leaning to write a explanation writing. I think I should work on using different time connectors and different topic words.

Native Birds - Similarities and Differences

Reflection In this activity I was learning about the similarities and differences of to NZ native birds. I learnt that a Kea can live up to 50 years. It was easy because a buddy helped me with some facts. I enjoyed this activity because I didn't know that a Kea can make their nests on the ground.

Reflection
I was leaning to skin an scan to find information in the text. I learnt that Kea's can live up to 50 years. I worked with a buddy to do this and really enjoyed it.

Jack's Owl - Making Connections

Reflection In this activity I Was learning to make connection as I was reading. I found it tricky. I didn't read the questions well and I found it hard to understand. I got help from the teacher. I need to keep working on this.

Reflection I was leaning to put the counters into equal groups. It was hard because I accidentally deleted some of the counters. I need to keep practising fractions of a set by sharing equally.

Storm Get A New Family - make and justify inferences

Reflection I was learning to make and justify inferences. I found the book hard and found it hard to answer the questions. I need to work on looking words I don't know up in the dictionary and be able to write a sentence with them.

Tell the Time in 5 minute blocks

        Reflection we are learning to tell the time with our buddy in analogue and digital time. it was easy to tell the time with our buddy because we understand it. Next I could work on my own.

Dig In - Summarising Information

Reflection I was learning to summarise information. It was tricky because I didn't understand information. Next time I want to work on my summarising.

Reflection I am learning to Summarise information of the text in the Story.  it was hard to understand the Story because it had some tricky words in the book. I found it easy to understanding the beginning, middle and end of the story.

Reflection I was learning to sort living and non living things. I found this easy because I worked with buddy.

Reflection I was learning to use strategies to make my writing more interesting. I felt this  was tricky for me as I didn't know what a simile or onomatopoeia. I need to keep working on these strategies.

 Reflection In this activity I was learning to continue a number pattern. I found this a little bit tricky to start with but then I noticed the patterns.  I need to keep practicing continuing patterns in numbers.

Reflection I was learning to skim and scan to find information. I found it hard because I needed to look more carefully at the text and pictures. I need to keep working on this and staying on task.

Statistical Enquiry

Reflection
I am learning to conduct a simple statistical enquiry cycle.  I found it tricky to count the tally marks because they were not evenly spaced.  It was easy to display the data because I had buddy. Next I would like to keep practising displaying information.

Bio Poem

Reflection I was learning to write a bio poem.I learnt what a bio poem is. I found it tricky when I was writing a bio poem and putting the pictures in it. Next time I would like to write in full sentences.

Welcome to my Year 4 learning blog. This year I am in Room 14 and my teacher is Mrs Prendergast. I enjoy playing Soccer and Rugby.  This year I am looking forward to Room 14 to be the best class.  I hope you will enjoy my blog and leave lots of feedback.
